I have been a Regional Director with the Childbloom Guitar Program since June of 2007. Childbloom Guitar is a structured music teaching system designed for children ages 5-12. We use child-sized nylon string guitars, start with a "limited-rote" method, and progress to music reading, chords and theory. The group lesson introduces them to ensemble playing early on, and gives them a peer group to progress with. There are free, voluntary recitals and public performances quarterly.
There is a one-time enrollment fee of $30, for which you get the Childbloom Program CD containing all the music your child will be learning in the first few months, all print-outs of the music and an informative monthly newsletter from the national headquarters in Round Rock, Texas. Lessons are 1/2 hour weekly in a group of 2-4 students, and are held in my studio on Wednesdays in Sandpoint, Idaho. Tuition is $70 per month. There are 42 lessons in the year.
